Interesting choice to put here on newgrounds. Talk about coming from left field. Anywho, review time.
Pros: Educational! Always had an interest to pick up another language, this seems like a fairly good stepping stone towards that. Clickable definitions and context helps a lot. Story is short and simple, but that's a good thing when trying to teach a language (especially an asian one to non-asian speakers) since it won't distract.
Cons: Probably could have done with a short 'tutorial' about the grammar setup of the languages. For example, explaining that in spanish, the spelling of the ending of the verb changes to reflect the subject (I speak? You speak? He/she/it speaks? etc) Spanish was easiest for me to 'pick through' since I knew about the grammar; chinese and japanese however... didn't stand a chance. Lol. Some native speakers may also point out the rough translations, but when you have a completely different language with who knows how many sub-dialects (let's face it, some words just do not have a translation to begin with on top of that!), a rough translation is probably as close as you're going to get...
Other: All in all, pretty good. Even though it left me knowing just how little a chance I have at picking up an asian language, it does go a long way to teaching the basics and making a good attempt at teaching. Much better than a standard ol' textbook. Thumbs up, good job.
