Reviews for "Spiderling"

Good game but the control is terrible!!!
I've tried a lot of time of shooting and swinging
it's too hard to me to do the simple swinging
my silk always turns down~!!!!

I don't really get how to play. The instructions say how to shot web and jump, so I figured you swing along, but it really only makes you inch along really slowly. And now I'm in a pit and I don't have the faintest idea how I could get out.
hhhhhh

Really fun game, it was great until the part in the darkness. It gets to one section and it's nearly impossible without redoing it multiple times, which being in complete darkness makes it horribly repetitive and personally, made me lose enjoyment quick.
It's difficult in a bad way. Although I saw where the web went at a certain part I had to commit suicide to do so. Because staying on land the web doesn't make it to show the next step. Which literally requires a leap of faith. Bad design choice there, since i never got to explore the game to the right, I don't know what's out in that direction so this is the best review I can give.

The atmosphere, music, and art are phenomenal. The basic platforming gameplay is formulaic while the games rope mechanic is dysfunctional bordering on unplayable. The largest problem with the rope is that its length is to short, and its speed is far to slow making the sections involving moving along cliff tops a nightmare of frustration.

The second major issue with the rope is how you control its direction while swinging with it. You use the arrow keys to direct where you need to go during a jump, but you also use it to aim where the web goes, and because there is no margin of error do to how slow, and short the web is. Trying to use it in the half a second interval transitions from surface to surface in mid air with the rope going the wrong direction compounds the already frustrating nature of needing to have pinpoint accuracy with the rope do to its speed, and length issues.

Finally there seems to be a bug where the rope won't stick to surfaces some times on top of the of the aforementioned problems.

If you fix the issues with the rope I can see this game being very high quality, and achieving countless awards. One other thing, and this is just totally my opinion, but I would love to see some more spider abilities with the spiderling. The ability to make rope bridges, tie up enemies, and maybe a poison bite that can stun hostile mobs just a few ideas. Anyway good luck, and thanks for the experience you worked hard on it, but it still needs a bit of work.

The "realistic" physics deeply hurts this game. The controls are finicky, everything feels slippery, and it is literally impossible to play on keyboards that can't register at least 3 simultaneous button presses.

I gave it a shot, but I was unable to get past the first spiky gap that requires web-slinging.
