Got to be kidding
To begin with, I really dont understand why America is always made out to be the bad guy. Hitler would not have advanced as far as he did in WW II if it were not for appeasement on the part of Europe, especially Neville Chamberlain. I'm not saying that poor decisions haven't been made, but America stands as the blueprint for democracy that has found its way to many parts of the globe. Also, you make it look like the people who died on Sept. 11 deserved it because they were American. Not all of them were American. Something like 50 different nations were represented amongst the deceased. This includes Muslims. Why aren't people more concerned about the fundamentalist Islamic regimes in places like Iran and Syria? They are the real opressors here. Unless you think that beating women for not completely covering themselves and not allowing them to get an education is the proper thing to do. What would the world do if the U.S. were never to get involved in any foreign conflict ever again? Imagine a world where the U.S. was governed with an isolationist foreign policy. The world would be pissed that we weren't doing more. Nothing the U.S. ever does will make the majority of the world happy. In all honesty though, why should we care what anyone else thinks. I would rather anger the rest of the world but know that I can sleep safely in my bed at night, than be the most popular kid on the block and not know if I will get blown up in a mall over the weekend. The fact remains, Afghanistan was harboring the mastermind of an unprovoked attack against the U.S. and her citizens. Therefore, we had every right to respond with as much power as we deemed necessary. Besides, it seems to me that the people of Afghanistan have been liberated. We have done more to help the people of Afghanistan than any other nation has. And we do it without thanks. I don't think any of what I have said is untrue or out of line, so if you think so, let me know.
