Reviews for "Intel Was Wrong"

This is like FTL online, need indication for explored star systems and cost of intervel fuel.

Wolod responds:

There is such indication. When your cursor is over star appears a tooltip with star type and planets. Red text means visited and green means unvisited objects.

Nice game. Kind of like a simple FTL, which is a fun style. The only issue I see is with bullet properties - My personal rail gun didn't pierce obstacles, and my homing ship weapon didn't home. Looks like the only thing that works is scatter bullets v. single shots.

Wolod responds:

Thanks! About your issues: piercing ground weapons pierce only through enemies. About homing missiles... That's weird I just tested and it worked fine. I'll look to that.

Battles with your main character do NOT work.
When I get into one, there are no characters on the screen, and when I press one key to "start the battle", I die instantly. This really needs to get fixed.

Wolod responds:

It will be fixed.

Excellent game! It's challenging and enjoyable.

I did run into an issue in ship combat (running Chrome on Win7): About 20% of the time, I would enter ship combat and immediately die (once I moved or clicked, and a few times I would die before I did anything).

Also, occasionally my inventory items would disappear. I didn't take note on the circumstances surrounding said disappearances.

I like the exploration, chance, resource management and hectic combat. The upgrades are nice, too.

I am hesitant to add any critiques (other than addressing the possible aforementioned issues), and my only one would be to add a bit of art to the combat scenes (ships and robots in lieu of triangles and circles). Having said that, I also enjoy the Asteroids feel. I am conflicted on that point.

In all, a very enjoyable experience.

Wolod responds:

Thanks a lot! I'm currently working on new update. Bug with dying at the start of combat will be fixed. Art will be added too.

For a game made in 6 days with only 2 updates, I have played through (died) close to 15 times and have not seen a bug. That's amazing. Combat is simple. Not much more i could think to improve it without actually rehauling the whole combat system, but for what it is, it is enjoyable.

My only complaint is that the amount of experience you get after each meager play through is very small. Maybe just a little boost to it, say 10% or so.

I also would not be opposed to temporary buff items, say one fight use super cannon that would do 25-30 damage per shot but burn out at the end of the fight, It could be chosen in a one frame prepare your anus pre-battle screen.

I will finish this game... I've seen you say it has a happy ending... need to finish...

Wolod responds:

I'm glad that you've like it! Rigth now I'm working on a third update and consumable items is an interesting idea. I'll keep that in my mind.
