Reviews for "Scrap Metal"

It seems that you put a lot of time on this and I dont blame you, its an interesting project

Sadly it lacks a lot of things: for example, most of my battles I won them with Rs. Yes, they are somehow balanced, but the effects that R has against the others are not balanced. Also the selection screen is a little dull.

Probably working more on it, Im sure you can improve the battle system.

DarkTimmy responds:

Totally agree, I think the idea of the game is better than the execution. I love the RSP concept and the AI just doesn't really work as well as I hoped. I also think there could have been some little augment to the gameplay like a trainer or small arm upgrades. Maybe in the sequel or a major update! Thanks for playing and taking a moment to comment! I do appreciate it. Best, -Tim

All I did was get a strong arm and use paper almost every match for a knock out. There's potential here at least.

DarkTimmy responds:

HAHA!! Yep!!! I was pretty hyped when I made it and felt it had potential that never really gets going. Ah well, I did learn a lot from it and it was a fun go round to make. Maybe in the sequel or a major update! Thanks for playing and taking a moment to comment! I do appreciate it. Best, -Tim

Don't base it so much on pure luck, because otherwise this is just a random number generator. You can break the 10 moves into 1 move per round and apply the rock-paper-scissors logic (if the bot choose paper, the next one should be rock, because he thinks you're going to use scissors), but base it on a little bit of luck and the AI difficulty level. That way you still have luck but you also have some logic and the difficulty will change the outcome aswell.

DarkTimmy responds:

Yep - agree on all points. I was pretty hyped when I made it. I feel it has some potential that never really gets going. Ah well, I did learn a lot from it and it was a fun go round to make. Love the AI suggestion too! Maybe in the sequel or a major update! Thanks for playing and taking a moment to comment! I do appreciate it. Best, -Tim

Had potential, but there are no real upgrades, just new arms, and the fighting consists of rock paper scissors with stats and has little to no strategy involved. Very simple and uninteresting.
The upgrades extend to you KO a robot, you get their arm. The combat is simple and random and can usually be won by selecting on kind of punch for the duration of the fight. The only variation from fight to fight is which punch to choose. Had potential but was way to simple to hold my attention.

DarkTimmy responds:

Yeah - agree on all points. I was pretty hyped about the game when I made it. I think, like you, it has some potential that never really gets realized. Ah well, I did learn a lot from it and it was a fun go round to make. Thanks for playing and taking a moment to comment! I do appreciate it. Best, -Tim

Why am i only seeing dark screen with music? Nothing shows up to select.

DarkTimmy responds:

Drop me a line. I have seen this problem and I would love to help. Someone mentioned reinstalling Flash did the trick for them. The things I know are - it does load for me on all browsers. That doesn't help you BUT it does tell me it might be on your end. If you clear your cache and then reload it might do the trick. Also - a different browser might get it working. If you don't want to do any of that just contact me directly at hello (at) donleytimefoundation (dot) com or PM me here. We'll get it sorted!
