Errrr... pardon me, my science/scifi knowledge is a bit poor and I can't fork out the time to read wikipedia pages in detail. And I'm not sure of the answer. Physically should be a no, but scifi-wise, I'm not sure. It's just used as a theme for the game. I'm the type of person that sees "No's" as "Not yets". Hyperspace, hyperjump... do those count? :-)
Reminds me of a old DOS game I have played 20 years ago...the memories.

i liked it but i hated the "hitbox" i feel it so bigger than i can't see if i really will hit an asteroid but in general i liked
PD: i would love to see a game starfox like with that graphics xD seems so nice
I rather enjoy the concept of this game. I can picture it as a minigame scenario for a much larger game. Imagine if you will (In appropriate Rod Sirling voice :) ) You find yourself fleeing some various pursuers as your hyperdrive charges...you look to your starcharts and spot a nearby asteroid field...a dangerous and almost suicidal attempt at eluding capture or worse for as your hyperspace engines begin to charge your ship begins gaining speed at an exponential rate.....
