Reviews for "The Last Door - Chapter 3"

very good game and very atmospheric. only drawback for me was the extremely undetailed graphics.

SPOILER ALERT BELOW:

well for you guys that say it is hard and have no idea what to do. i actually found it quite easy and found how things work quite fast so i give you some tips as to how to start at the beggining. the gypsy woman that tells you your future is very important. you have to say but i dont have a penny. she will read your future anyway. you should take the lamp which is near her. then go to the buthcher shop which is in an aley with a tall street lamp and one door. there inside the butcher shop there is a door with four levers above you press 1st, 4th, 2nd and it opens. inside there is a machine that seperates substances from water. you will take a bottle that you find in some garbage, go in the sewers were the garbage bags are. take some oily water that runs from some pipes. fill the bottle with it. go in the secret room in butchershop. use the machine. seperate oil from water. fill lamp with oil. go again to gypsy woman she has a fire beside. light the lamp. and voila you have a bright working lamp. go in the dark places you couldnt reach before. aka dark house and sewer system with the words rats on the entrance. the rest you have to find alone but these will give you some boost for starters...

Awesome game. The pixel graphics, the eerie atmosphere, intuitive controls... it's an effectual venture through the dark on which you embark. Nice work!

Good, but I have a few complaints.

1. The outdoor pace of walking was fine, but the speed that you walk while indoors or in the fog is really just too slow, especially because you often have to double back to figure out puzzles.
2. The atmosphere/lore stuff is creepy, but it is also very disjointed. All the different plot points are getting jumbled up and it doesn't make any sense. Like all the random things in the bookstore ("Shai-Za," etc.). Seems like you're just throwing in random things to make it seem mysterious, but it's really just confusing.

I like the gloomy atmosphere and creepy interactions. For an 8 bit game this is not bad at all.

it's good, and I love the series. however, the noise puzzle was a little difficult even with the noise subtitles on. A few things felt incomplete, like the two music scores we never get to truly read and the supernatural tree growth never being explained. I also like that there are decisions in the game, but I dislike how many times I'd have to replay each game to get minor response changes. It just doesn't have that replay value for me, honestly. Also, this is named Chapter 3 and is the third (full) part yet the endscreen reads: "The adventure continues in Chapter 3". Even counting the prologue, that's an error.
