Reviews for "StoryShift"

All in all, its a great concept... I would like to see some "upgrades" for it, if possible. For example: Some sort of sorting feature for stories i've already read (and voted), that i dont want to show up anymore, that got updated / decision revealed, and completly new ones. (all shown seperatly) Right now its just Text/Comic sorting, or am i missing sth?
PS: im glad the community chose the scythe. Its something new :) there are way to much swordsmen out there...
PPS: Excuse my writing, i'm not native english. (I know... , my english is better than some native ones) ;)

Evil-Dog responds:

Yeah filtering and sorting options are coming :)

Could I make a story? or is it just for you guys?
I would like to make a "Choose your own adventure" book.

Evil-Dog responds:

Only if you're already a regular writer with existing written stories I can read. PM me if you do.

Story Shift is awesome! I like that you can choose from different genres, and that you can regularly vote on what happens next in the stories. Makes me think of those "Choose Your Own Adventure" books I used to read as a kid. Very cool idea! Keep up the good work!

Evil-Dog responds:

Thanks man, glad you like the idea :D

The ideas are well strung together. You have a concept that works. The stories themselves are well written like novels, and the story cycle is rather unique. This layout ends up leaving people desiring more which gives them a reason to come back especially since the stories are being updated now and then. It also gives the author's downtime to plan ahead or simply take a break. Navigation offers different options, and are simple to use. This will not deduct any points from the overall score, but my only gripe is the inability to ever view the other possible outcomes. You know, I'm interested how the other choices would've played out. Although not much of an actual game in itself, the interactivity would make it seem like one. It sort of reminds me of a 'CYOA' type of book, except it's influenced by majority voting. I also see that there's a Newgrounds-like voting power mechanic in there which I have no problems with.

Otherwise all I have left to say is, it's a great submission. I can't wait to see what else is in store in the next update.

Evil-Dog responds:

Awesome glad you like the stories and all. I understand you'd like to see the other paths, but since the authors are writing the stories as the decisions are made, that's impossible, or would be an unreasonable workload :) Unlike CYOA stories, there are no death/failure paths, I would rather compare it to a D&D game with a good DM :)

Very fun idea! Everytime I get to a choice, it's like a cliffhanger at the end of an episode of your favourite tv show but with the twist of you actually having an small impact on where the might story go :) I just hope most people were thinking about taking up the double sharp-edged scythe >_>

Evil-Dog responds:

Haha glad you enjoy the voting! :D I want the Musamasomething!
