Very interesting... however
I find that this is a very popular idea- that we are told by society what we should be. And, to tell you the truth, that is the way it is. While the author acknowledges this fact, he does not point out that the cage which surrounds the pig is determined by us as a people. And the antibiotics are the drugs which we, as humans have given ourselves so we can lie to ourselves. If the author feels that constricted by his surroundings, he needs to make a change, which is getting more and more possible each day that passes. Look at the Civil Rights movement, which completely changed a society. While we still have much more to go, it shows that a few determined people can adjust the cage. Without the cage, we as humans would not be able to live in a society. The cage is what keep us together. Keeps us stronger. What we need to figure out, collectively, is what the parameters of the cage should be. Apart from that, beautiful artistry.
