Reviews for "Pandesal Boy"

I love these type of games but sometimes the timer would go for second(s?) after I got to the exit and also you can climb the grass blocks if you jump at right time.

kikill responds:

Thanks blyndid!

A fraction of a second is needed for the game engine to process the "level win" message. And since time is rounded to the nearest second this does sometimes seems to result to having one extra second after you reached the exit. But it is the same for everybody so it's still fair?

Yep, jumping off angled walls is permitted to a certain extent. You'll shave off lot of seconds in some levels by taking advantage of that! ^^

Cheers!

Finally, a Filipino game that is badass! the game itself is pretty interesting..But the control kinda ruined some of the levels for me. A good game.

kikill responds:

Thanks SilentX980! We patterned the controls after Counterstrike. One hand ideally controls the keyboard (e.g. WASD) and another the mouse. Testers play much more comfortably this way.

This puzzle platformer is made really well, and the music adds a nice flair to the experience.
It is indeed difficult to make the pars, but I suppose a healthy (yet frustrating at times) challenge is good for the soul :D
I suppose the one thing I find awkward is having to switch from keyboard commands to mouse over and over, all while having to line up the cannons aim and being pressured by the clock.
It seems to detract from the enjoyment I had playing, but I can appreciate what you've done here.
Keep up the good work!

kikill responds:

Hi xPaleRiderx! Thank you for appreciating our work!

As I've replied in the previous comment, we patterned our controls after Counterstrike with one hand on the keyboard and another on the mouse. It feels more natural this way and the testing confirmed it.

We look forward to showing you more of our games in the future!

I admit that the premise and execution is done pretty well. There are of course parts that are just too complicated to complete. It really does drag the fun out of it. Not to mention getting on par is really hard. At least I can do that in the early levels. The sounds and desgns are good.

I guess I can't recommend this game, but if you're really good at it, great for you. I like this crazy world you have created for the player. I wish I knew what "Pandesal" meant. It was nice to see this on the front page. It's quite well done, if very hard.

kikill responds:

Thank you for giving this exception Ericho to review a game one more time! I think you gave a fair opinion. But I grew up playing Mario and dreaming of one day making a similar world. So my first intention was to make something for platforming hardcores. Forty odd beta testers later, I realized I needed to soften the difficulty and did so with a lot of reluctance. In the end there is a limit to how easy I can allow the game to be. So it became what it is.

Thank you for appreciating the other aspects of the game. We did this with a lot of love. ^^

And btw, "Pandesal" is breakfast bread in our country. It's Spanish in origin I think, literally translated in English as "bread with salt".

I immensely enjoy these types of games the puzzle element mixed in with some platformer style was nice, I was totally immersed in getting past each challenging level, And thats what I really enjoyed with this game and it had some good mechanics and was very fun
