Reviews for "Dan Devil"

Its a ripoff of the miami shark series a little bit.

DarkTimmy responds:

Well, that's modestly spoke and thank you. I absolutely know about the Shark series and was inspired by it. I'm not even trying to hide it. This is my twist and for some it may seem like a clone or a pitch perfect copy but it's really not. Wiesi has an awesome series and I wanted to make something along those lines in a different setting. Love his stuff though - really great games. Thanks for the comment! Best, -Tim

I love the Wiesi influence!!!!

DarkTimmy responds:

The guy is a master! Seriously. I loved the Shark series the minute I played it in case you an't tell! HAHAH! Yeah - I never tire of playing them either. I still go back and do a Miami or New York run every now and they. An you know what it's EXACTLY as fun now as it was when I first played it! HA! Thanks for the comment and the review! Best, -Tim

Right on man, this isn't a bad game at all. Especially for only being your 2nd game.
I really enjoyed your first game, Boss 101, and this was fun too.
Yes, Dan Devil has the same formula as the Shark games, but this had a fun parody feeling to it and kept me entertained for a few runs.
I like how some of the graphics and audio reminded me of the Sega Geniesis, fun.
Keep up the good work!

DarkTimmy responds:

Thanks sir. I am glad you enjoyed this one. I took a small break from the Boss 101 games to open up my skill set a little and Dan Devil was the result. You may also enjoy the next game coming up called Cosmic Clicks! I hope people get some fun out of this. I added achievements specifically for Newgrounds since I wanted to give people a little something for playing the game. It's a great crowd here and I enjoy working on stuff that they like and support. Thanks for playing and the comment! More to come! Best, -Tim

I haven't played the shark game everyone else seems to have, but I found this to be quite fun. I loved the special attacks. Bringing down the witch and the genie were fun! Oh, and loved the crazy train reference. I am interested in what you will come up with next.

DarkTimmy responds:

Thanks and so glad you like it! It was a blast to make and adding in the specials were the best part! a new Dan Devil will be entirely based on fan support. I'd love to make more and the fans can vote with their plays and ratings! I appreciate the play and the comment! Thank you! Best, -Tim

Really fun game. I loved the shark games. This game made my left hand burn a little bit more from all the punching. It seems slightly unfinished though. A larger amount of random enemies on the ground would of been good. The dirt terrain you used made it look extra plain with the amount of enemies you had on it. So maybe a more interesting terrain choice could of helped the lack of enemies too. It was still fun to play though.

DarkTimmy responds:

Thanks for the feedback and yeah - the Shark series is BRILL! Really fun stuff and it's no joke I drew a lot of inspiration and ideas from that genre. As I mentioned below I have not hidden this game from Wiesi - he knows it exists and saw it before release. I didn't want him to see it after the fact and go "What the 'eff?!!?!" I think his work is fantastic and if I can add a little smidge to it and stand on the shoulders of giants well, then I will and learn too! Thanks for the review and I might do a Dan Devil 2. I would like to continue down this road a little farther as there are some things I see now that I can to to up the ante and make it even more my own. Totally agree with your assessment by the way! Thanks for that and stay in touch! Best, -Tim
