Reviews for "Painters Guild (Alpha)"

Amazing and brilliant game. Hope the full version comes out soon! Also nice music.

Game is easy once you understand it.
here some tips:
1)Never buy anything its not worth it. The study marble table I found it useless.
The double chair too by the time you moving the other character the resting character going to be fully recovered.
2)In the beginning make Da Vinci study while the teacher make him paint pictures. Do that till Da Vinci speed is at least at 40. Also help the teacher in the double paintings if needed and there is too much work to do.
3) Never let Da Vinci surpass his teacher or the teacher going to leave him and you would not be able to keep up with the paintings to be able to pay the yearly tax. After Da Vinci speed is at 40 I stop him from studying ever again and make the teacher study instead while Da Vinci does the painting that way the teacher is ahead in skills. If you want you can just make the teacher do all the painting in the last year while Da Vinci study to surpass him. In the last year you do not have to pay rent.
4) Do not take people offers too fast. Take them when the exclamation symbol is on red. That way you gonna have extra time. Since the timer starts when you take the offer.
5)Take priority in the single painting jobs and leave double pictures for latter. Since you can duo team those paintings and do them fast. I usually take them when the timer is on half. With duo team is enough time.
I really liked the game and manage to beat it without taking a loan from the bank and manage to do all the painting following those tips I just mentioned.
I even manage to get the teacher speed to 70.
I would like if the items in were cheaper so they would not mess up my debt. Even if they did not give extra stats would had liked them for at least decoration purposes.

very fun but i got arrested for having a homosexual relationship... seemed unfair

Cute game, nice concept, but its far from ready to go on steam if this is it. There are images on the steam greenlight page that look like the final version of this game has more meat to it. The ending here, while factual, left me pretty bitter and never wanting to pick this game up again. It was like a big joke that I even played through it.
I wish there was a safer way to know how much money you needed for rent so you can buy any items too...not that you really need other items, but trying them out would have been nice. My money goal maxed out at 350 and then guild rent came and swiped 1000 off me. Not sure if that's a bug or what, but I didn't know it was coming and I read all the notices.
Also, just taking in painting after painting gets boring after a short time. I wish there were other objectives to complete or something. Maybe get the little painter a woman/secret man that wont get him arrested. Go out on big job painting missions. Upgrade his stupid little shack into something nicer. Get more apprentices. But it looks like you might already be working on that for the final game. So anyway, I voted yes because I liked the idea but I just hope this game gets some expansion.

It's been a while since I reviewed a game, but I felt like it would be appropriate. For me, I like this game. As an alpha, it's a compelling game about both an artist and inventor. I love the idea, but in some ways it fell short. For one, once you get new furniture, it's impossible to get rid of your old ones. Two, once you figure out the formula to maximize productivity, it becomes easy to keep up with the customers. Three, towards the end, the table used to improve Leonardo's skills, it becomes useless, and four, for a game called Painter's Guild, there's only two painters.

However, despite my complaints, I can't wait to see more from you. Keep up the good work.
