Reviews for "Loot Hero"

you need a lot of new levels, backscreens and new enemies to make the game more attractive. its really boring to play the same 5 levels over and over...

VaragtP responds:

I wish I could just pull them out of my back pocket ;) But I will try to make the sequel more expansive, thank you!

glitched
knight instant dead if outside the screen
cause off monster infinity spawn
stop moving with low health make the knight sure dead
it caused by movement speed upgrade and sudden stop at some point of place

VaragtP responds:

I am still looking into a way to make the speed more controllable!

Would've been a five star if you could control the knight with the arrow or A/D keys... don't see why this isn't an option. Might not be enough for most people to nit pick, but the only thing the 'mouse only' controls serve is to advance my carpel tunnel even further.

VaragtP responds:

The reason I did not include arrow keys is that you can actually control the speed by how far away the mouse is from the Hero. So it is a bit "analog". With arrow keys its only "on" or "off" :/

Beat Lvl 50 Dragon with ease at level 57, sprinted to the end of the level and killed the dragon in like 2 hits. Only had the Character level 100 Achievement left to do out of 20 and stopped there due to it having become an unfulfilling grind quite some time ago.

Good game but got stale pretty quickly.

VaragtP responds:

Thanks for playing so far still :)

I really enjoy the game and played it probably longer than I should have. It has the basis for a nearly perfect game, but it has some balancing issues. I'm pointing out a lot of minor issues, but only because I really think this has potential, so please take it as praise and positive criticism.

First, is speed, as others have said. You really only need so much, and even if it does make farming faster later, it's so fast I can't see what's going on and it's just counting the number of shops rather than watching the action. My suggestion would be either to put a lower cap on it, tone down how much you get per point and add some other bonus, like faster health recovery, or add a way to control it, like clicking just brings you to the next shop.

Second, what exactly does level do? As far as I can tell, it doesn't improve my stats at all, I do think it refills my health, but that's it; it's just another grind. It would be neat if it did something noticeable so it felt a bit rewarding like upgrading a stat. Maybe it can be worth a small multiplier or other bonus on the stats, or increase the gold/xp or something.

Third, it's a bit annoying that the stats don't all cap at 4x9. Speed stops being worth it way before, Crit a little past, and the others seem to go on indefinitely. Particularly with the last two, it hurts the balance because they stop going up in price. I think it'd be cool if they all had some sort of cap and we could either invest in other stats (luck, bonus xp, health regen, etc), or gear, and let the progression proceed through the level bonuses as well to make the late game more interesting.

I was going to comment on the camera issues as well, but those seem fixed, so thank you. Again, overall, great work. I look forward to seeing more from you in the future.

VaragtP responds:

Thanks for that expansive feedback! :) I will look at this when doing the sequel! About the level up, it do raise your stats (particular attack and defence). You can see it in the shop on the right side. If you look at the numbers before and after a level up you will see the difference. But I should have made it more clear!
