Reviews for "A Boney Night"

I appreciate this game and I agree that adventure games should be more than room escape. Great job, can't wait to see more from you!

In terms of looking and playing like an old Adventure game this was spot on. Some of the older games had their own problems though which are here as well. Having the space bar to move faster was a good idea and helped with some of it. However the interaction was slow and frustrating. I read some of the earlier comments and saw that you already know so I'll leave off here.

In terms of gameplay it was a lot better than some of the bad old adventure games with nonsensical solutions. It wasn't perfect though. I got stuck trying to a get a root of evil for quite a while.

For other players, here's a tip. You do not use the axe to get the root.

Music was good, and fit the mood well. The graphics were also pretty good and really captured the old style you were shooting for.

I wish the game was a bit longer. I don't want to give anything away, but the solution to the boss, while it made sense and was good from a storytelling perspective, made me wish for something more.

Also, having a character suddenly curse near the end surprised me. I'm not offended, but I know I probably won't be introducing this game to any younger members of my family because of it, which is a shame, because these kind of adventure games are exactly the kind of thing I'd love to share.

Overall, this is pretty good. If you improved the interaction a little bit I'd give it 4.5/5, and if it had a bit more material as well then I'd give it 5/5.

For now though 4/5. I'll be looking forward to your next work.

Thanks for the game.

Thanks for playing! :) My next interface should do away with the slow interaction. What I want to keep is the 3-way interaction with look/use/talk. I've got an action wheel thing going on now. Basically a hold-select-let go deal. Items can simply be dragged over other hotspots, too.

Puzzle design in adventures can be tough; it's always a bit of a shot in the dark. I'm not surprised not all of them are spot on or all that logical. It always sounds so different or logical in one's own head.

The game is short because it was made to try out my adventure framework. I'm still actively developing it to iron out some problems like the inconsistent non-pixelated scaling.

I'll look into the cursing character you mentioned. I'm not always sure what constitutes cursing and what doesn't.

It sucks that I can't play, It would not load for me and I was really hoping to play this game it seem really fun

Strange! HTML5 should work in most newer browsers. You could maybe try a different browser like Chrome or Firefox.

Where can I find the dash of honesty?!?! pLeAsE!!

Hint: Undra's new buddy has a hobby that could help. Check out his place again.

I really enjoyed it ! The only thing I've liked a bit less was the fact that I couldn't mute the music. I am not a big fan of music while I am playing but that's just me! The story was fun to follow, I loved to be able to change the options with the mouse! Congrats :)

origamiherogames responds:

A mute option... yeah, sounds reasonable. I'll see what I can do about that. :)
