This game lacks intelligent design. did you playtest the later sections at all?
This is really a great game. Folks who are reading the game's meaning as a simple case of Bible-thumping, or for that matter, anti-religion might want to think about how the mechanics work in relation to the quotes. On one hand, the quotes keep you afloat, even allow you to slowly "ascend" -- just like religion, or any set of beliefs can. On the other hand, these quotes also slow you down -- if they allow you to ascend, to some degree, they also limit your ascent; you find yourself stuck and unable to go much higher if you keep with them. By the very top level, what began as quotations that expressed the limits of knowledge and promoted the acceptance of God transform into incredibly hateful dogma that you have to avoid to get anywhere. I beat it after two or three tries, but it was challenging.
