Reviews for "miniPassage 2"

Well, that was short lived.

Interesting, and very short indeed. Perhaps the most interesting part is that my highest score on ember road without trying to die pretty good, but if I try to die (especially at the end of the level where you can jump into the spikes repeatedly) I can get a really good score from dying to spikes like 100 times.

Also, the game has weird issues with it's sound and losing focus. Which is a shame, 'cause I wanted to hear the music and sounds.

UnknownGuardian responds:

Sorry about that! Music and focus issues is a setup that carried over from our mobile version. If you swap apps, then the music automatically mutes, and resumes when you regain focus.

So much potential, upgrading the score system would be a great start.

UnknownGuardian responds:

Thanks! A lot of people have said that an achievements screen would be super helpful. And of course, a ton more achievements.

If there's a point to this game I'm not sure I get it.

Also, there should be a better bonus for not dying. Only +20%? Avoiding lava on a level with no lava gives you +30%.

UnknownGuardian responds:

Haha, woops! I might have forgotten to not check for laval when there is no lava! I definitely had planned to do that, but the execution part slipped my mind.

First, I think this is a mostly finished game, not completely finished. There is no ending, at least not as far as I played.

There are also no instructions, so players don't really know how to get points. Now, thats not a bad thing in all games, but when the entire purpose of the game is to get points, it's a little frustrating to be left without any consistency. Some bonus's are more fun when they are a surprise, but it would be nice to have at least a basic idea of how to get more points.

Also, there are numbers that increase every frame at the top of the screen that apparently have nothing to do with the score? At least not as far as I could tell.

Is the point of the game to avoid traps, or hit the traps? You get points either way.

last, there is no way to keep track of your score and so no incentives for the player to want to do better. You have to reward the player somehow, and finding out the random bonus you got at the end of the level you just played 5 times in a row isn't enough of one.

All of that being said, this is still a solid game. It functions the way it is intended and there are a lot of quirks that make it interesting.

Over all, great job :)
