Not bad at all. This really takes me back to my days in school when we used to play this over and over.
The only thing is that, if the "classmate" is forced to prepare a square for me and thus offering a route for me to fill up, it would be logical if he gave a route that is preferably short. However he tends to be very generous and chooses one of the rather longer ones.
So either I am missing where I can choose a difficulty level or this is something worth adding to the game ;-)

pretty awesome. really took me back to being in elementary school. i used to play this game a lot then and was bad ass at it. still am apparently i got 50 squares and my "classmate" only got 14. only problem i had with the game was that it gets a little laggy at times but nothing too bad. thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I remember why I hate this game! This is good though... The lag did not bother me, doesn't need to be ultra fast but what did was the constant in and out of perspective as I and my opponent (he is not my friend- he must be conquered!) trade moves. Also the animation reset if he gets a chain going could be animated better- not just a jump back to start type thing... Solid game though
I've played this game many times with paper and pencil as a child, so I've had a lot of practice with this. It's easy. Like seriously, some people in the reviews have missed out.
On another note, it's a bit annoying when the "classmate" has to zoom out for their turn.
