Reviews for "King's Ascent"
Its rare that I play a game because of the story but this one I did. The platformer style, especially how the "ammunition" was limited became frustrating after a while but I kept playing because I wanted to hear the dialogue. The last stage, narratively, was the most interesting because it wasn't just simply about the king's bad deeds but exploring a more complex theme about the importance of intention and consequence. Very nice. The voice acting was a bit flat and unemotional but it grew on me and in no way detracted from the atmosphere, though the mixture of art style was, as others have already pointed out, a little jarring at times.
Great game the dragon wanted revenge because the king took her land then killed her for her trying to live and is the only one who deserved to be resurrected the tyrant, sea-beast and soldiers didn't really have a good reason. the voices were good though the text went offscreen at times and the tyrants hands killed me half the time because they are so big! It also provides a pretty good moral
Such a simplistic yet interesting platformer game! The story was short yet had depth. The gameplay was interesting and kept you on a good pace since you had to constantly move in a majority of the levels. My only complaint was that this game was not lengthier. A great platform game, keep up the great work!
