Reviews for "Don't Escape"

If anything, this game taught me the meaning of hopelessness. I couldn't find a legitimate way to lock all exits, and despite my multiple tries at restraint and making the potion I failed every time.

I've never seen my efforts squandered to effortlessly by a game.

You do get points for one hell of an atmosphere, though.

Tinderboxes work more than once. :I

I personally do not care for the type of point and click with unclear items to click. The challenge should be in figuring out what each item is for. Spoiler!: The pouring the potion on the meat thing was quite clever, however finding the stupid meat was silly, as was finding the little gold key, plus as many others had mentioned, it was unclear there was a second page to that journal. A little arrow in the bottom would have gone a long way, I only figured it out because everyone was complaining about it in the comments.

However, everything worked correctly, controls were good, click radius was good, well built game overall. Also lost some points on length and difficulty, with a million examples of these types of games out there we need something new and interesting.

It was a very good game but there were little to no introduction on what to do. There is a walkthrough, but using a walkthrough would be cheating and there would be no fun in it. The potion and the journal were clever into getting me to think and everyway is possible. Please consider the following. What you could do is make better use of it and make it more complex, but if you do, please do not make some things unavailable without cheating, so new players wouldn't get confused. I finished in less than 15 minutes, but it would be great if it was a 30 minutes - a one hour game.

Beginning of a unique concept, though it could have been executed better with less hidden objects and less red herrings (namely the candle and bowl). Still a good game considering its time.
