Reviews for "Persist"

I enjoyed your game very much. Just a little question: was Michael Jackson's Earth Song the soundtrack? Seems like a very nice touch to the overall story. Congrats, keep making games.

Sweet story, cute graphic, awesome music and pretty good controls!

A beatiful, simple short, I really liked it!

Wow. This game is awesome. There's only one problem that keeps bugging me though: At the part where the water rises and flows down, the Goddess begins manipulating time and space to prevent me from progressing. Thanks for this wonderful game anyway, AdventureIslands. Maybe it's just my computer lagging after all. Keep up the good work.

Shed a tear

For being such a short game (granted, short is pretty much par for the course with Ludum Dare games), I thought it was really cute and interesting. The mechanic of taking my body parts until I'm just a head that can't jump or swim is quite out there, but I love it. I would give it the full 5 stars, but I died a few times the first time I played and it got ever so slightly annoying. A couple areas were a bit tricky, especially the end of the last lava area with the rising platforms with the fireballs right between them, but thankfully I persisted and made it through. Twice. Plus, I didn't die as much the second time through. That's gotta mean something. Overall, short but very cute and very well put together.

I did actually encounter a slight glitch in the part before the final area. While running around in fear of the spikes coming down, I think I may have slammed my face into the right wall one too many times, because it stuck me in the running-to-the-right animation. Granted, it didn't hinder me in any way and I proceeded to the final area regardless, but I just thought I should address it.

Also, on a side note, is my little spirit dude a girl? I dunno, the context clues in the ending made it seem that way. I do wish I could've learned how bad they screwed up in life to get murdered, but that's alright. I got redeemed, and I hope my killer has absolutely rotten luck going through this.
