Really points out how much "girl gamers" get treated differently than male ones, I find it sickening. The term "Gamer" shouldn't be labeled by gender. Hell I'm a guy and I can relate to this because when I play some online games, specifically MMOs, and just HAPPEN to pick a female character, dudes start bugging me and flirting like sickos. *shudder*
I just want to play the damn game, and not be given unneeded or unwanted attention because of gender differences, it shouldn't be an issue. We play because we want to be immersed in another world, not have to deal with the people in this one. So for gamers who just happen to be girls and just want to play like the rest of us, more power to you.
So true. Best way to handle this situation in my opinion is to treat every gamer same way.

dude i hate the way guys are online. the ratio of guys to girls is like 100 or 10:1 and when a new player cmoes in and ESP if she's a girl all the guys start flirting. thats why i never rly talk or flirt iwth girls online cuz its just filthy. I only want to make friends but its hard for me to approach a girl who has 50 freaking horndogs around her. yeesh.
i do feel bad for the girl gamer as she is being dissed for playing a guy character, which i usually don't see often. esp a girl dissing a girl for being a guy character. usually its the opposite.
This is so true. "Gurl gamers" annoy the hell out of me. If you're female and you like video games, cool, but don't go around trying to flaunt your gender for attention.
