Reviews for "WIP Feminism Game"

Good start. I'd say this is done enough to get preliminary opinions. If it was much more broken I'd recommend the Dumping Grounds, but I can get a decent idea from here.

Of course, you ought to have sound, more levels, bug fixes, but what I want to know is if in the final game "feminism" will be more than just "women don't have to do housework anymore". Because that's a very superficial image of feminism, and depending on what kind of assignment it is, you'll probably be expected to be more in-depth. Modern feminism means being allowed to choose home, career, or both. It means sharing the housework fairly. It means being afforded the same opportunities and equal treatment.

I don't know if this is a Flash assignment or a Sociology/History assignment, and that will make the difference in how caricatured your final version can portray feminism. But right now, it just rubs me the wrong way.

Good artwork. The cloud of chores will hopefully have more attacks in the final version.

I really like the graphics during the fighting. Very nice, stylistically. There are a few things I noticed and would like to suggest to you.

Possible Bugs:
1) You can't use the same move twice. If I hit Z I HAVE to hit X otherwise it won't count.

Possible Improvements:
- Background Sounds
- Effects Sounds (punch, kick, getting hit, landing a blow)
- Improved graphics on the level complete?

Your level complete looks nice, but very pixelated. Almost as if it were saved in a JPEG format. I'm wondering if it's just a rendering issue, since the game graphics itself are nice.

That's it! Good luck on your game.

fun concept.....way too easy.....very repetative.....mix it up a little

Buggy as hell. no start menu. health doesn't hit zero. animation doesn't repeat if you hold down a button, but damage still applies.
The message of feminism is pretty far off. If it wasn't for the man in the kitchen at the end, it wouldn't even be feminist; it could just as easily interpreted as a woman tackling the housework, then resting after the work is done. With the man, it gives an anti-feminist characature of the woman pushing responsibilities onto the man without cohabitation. At the end of the day, she's still a 50's apron-wearing stay-at-home trophy wife.
The graphics are pretty solid, though. You get points for that.

You can literally beat this game by holding down A and S... That's it. I won't even comment on the theme or gameplay other than that.

I completely agree with norat374, including that the art is pretty good.

That's all though.
