Reviews for "The Guardian"

I thought that the concept and story were both very interesting. It just moved too slowly to keep my interest. The way you have to keep running the boy back and forth along the same path grows repetitive and boring very quickly, and makes completing the game seem more of a chore than having fun. But three stars for the concept and story.

A very good use of pixel art, and I liked the subtle changes to the environment, but that's all. It gets repetitive very fast, it's not very interactive, and it's never a good idea to have a 'game' that's just "go left/right to advance the story." The story itself is very underdeveloped and painfully simplified, and there's absolutely no reason for using Japanese characters. Playing as the giant was terribly boring and didn't lead to a satisfying conclusion.

It was a bit interesting the moment you open the game itself..but when u start playing it you'll get the feeling of asking yourself a question of "what is this?" , "where are the instructions?" , "why is the game ""miniature"" ?, and why it is written in a different language. I ventured the game about 4 -5 minutes but I myself can see the idea of it, but it's not there yet, still congrats :)

boring and slow

The story was great. The artwork, though simple, provides the mood and atmosphere necessary to really sell the tale. Even without the music this would be a good read. -.5 for when you mispelled life and the pillar in the middle of the broken bridge that mysteriously grew then shrank again as the story progressed (with no explanation). Regardless I definitely enjoyed this.

VOEC responds:

Sorry, I will fix the misspelled word as soon as possible. Also the pillar should continously skrink/decay, if it grew at one point that might me something to fix as well.
