Reviews for "Zombie in the Big City"

It's a simple and fun game!
I like the 8-bit style, the music...
But the jumping is too low, I can't reach the higher buildings. ( Maybe It's me, I don't know)
Like was said before it would be a good idea to put some upgrades and power-ups in the game.
ex.: You start with a baseball bat, by proceeding in the game you can unlock guns & other weapons.
You also can add some Challenges & achievements.
It's a good game, but It definitely can be better.

Oh, this one really needs badges!

this game sucks donkey ass !

this game is fuckn hard

I give you a 3. You have a good idea and it could really be excellent except for a few things you need to fix. Your baseball bat option is next to useless. Actually more than useless, its a detriment to the game. Almost never in any time did I use it did I survive. Once I realized that jumping over zombies is a much better and effective option I began to do that instead and therefore made the baseball bat a last resort if not completely unneeded. The hitbox area on the baseball bat is tiny and its refire rate is absolute garbage. The zombies are randomly (if not sadistically) placed to maximize difficulty and I applaud you on this. It really ramps up the difficulty if you have to land on a place and immediately have to hit a zombie with your baseball bat a half second upon landing to survive. This would be a brilliant mechanic if only the baseball bat actually worked like it should.

Here is what I propose.
Either A: Increase the size of the baseball bat's area of effect allowing one to now have more than half a second to respond whilst still keeping the refire rate the same, forcing the player to strategically time their attacks but still making it easy enough to not be frustrating.
or B: Increase the refire rate of the baseball bat significantly, so that in the event you do an attacked that was not timed properly (which was 90% of mine even though I KNOW I have good reflexes) you have the ability to swing again and correct your mistake, thus saving yourself from becoming zombie food.

You've got a good game here. The graphics are excellent, the backgrounds are well wrought and have lots of relevant imagery that bring the game to life (The "Help" sign on the windows comes to mind), the sprites have fluid movement and the pace of the game really drives you forward and makes you WANT to continue. The music is obviously excellent and fits the situation perfectly.

You seem like you took a game like canabalt of gem runner and turned it into your own version with your own theme. I respect that. It makes a cool game. But you have to fix your current mistakes if you want this game to really shine.

I'll add you to my favorites and see if you come up with any other good content. Looking forward to what you do next.
