This wasn't too bad, for a SHMUP. My biggest problem with it was that I was really confused as to where the hit box was, which is kind of vital in a game like this. I had originally thought it was around the whole ship, but that proved not to be the case. It seemed like the hit box was actually around the cursor position, which threw me way off several times.

Nasty bug: while laser is cooling off keep hitting space bar to double, triple, quadruple, and eventually just flood the screen with regular shots. Once it's built up enough you pretty much can't lose. In fact you don't even need laser once you do this.

not having auto-fire makes me sick

The graphics were decent and the instructions on how to play were pretty clear; however, the concept behind this game didn't seem too original or creative, basically like a re-do of space invaders.

The more games dialog box was definitely poorly placed. It's extremely annoying when it expand to cover half your playable screen and the game doesn't at least pause so that you can close it out.

Having to pick up the powerup letters was interesting.

The switch weapons button is stupid though. If I ever had a choice of weapons it would be different, but I don't. I only have blue blaster, green blaster, and red blaster and that's not a swappable option; only upgrades. It seemed as though the swap weapons button only worked once per game and it was more of a superblast that lasts for 3 seconds. I recommend either adding more weapons or renaming that to a power blast and better representing when it's available because I never knew. Also a quick use button instead of switch to it and use it once would be better as well.

On further inspection, it looks like overheating the beam once prevents you from using it again. Not sure if that's intentional or not.

I'm also a fan of keyboard commands as opposed to mouse only. I found that the arrow keys would move the ship but I was still forced to click in order to fire, which provides conflicting directional commands. When my mouse slips out of the play area and I miss dodging something because of it I get really annoyed.

The game was okay, and it had potential, but the flaws caused me to tire of it quickly.
