Reviews for "Give Up"

Got to 42% with only 1 death. Wonder how long I could have gone with just 1 xD

ERMAHGERD!!! that was (almost)perfect.

around the early 20's the lag really started to get unbearable, even after lowering quality, and sometimes the death animation lagged, almost allowing me to complete the level before spontaneously dying.

still fantastic though

Great game! Yes, At times the hit boxes did 'seem' ridiculous but the things sometimes move to fast to notice. It took me 250 death (not exactly but around there)

after 8 large years i can finally say,GG EZ!!!
good game, thanks for giving me my childhood

I feel like there is a lesson to learn here....
Obviously I didn't learn it since I bought Never Give Up on Steam.

Great controls and level design, but the story just falls on itself. One moment you are being told to stop and when you actually stop it tells you to try again.

Died exactly 200 times to clear all 40 rooms.

Pro Tip: Press the down arrow key to advance the dialogue without having to die.

EDIT FROM WHILE PLAYING GIVE UP 2

Yeah, the sequel cranks up the message way too high and destroys the gameplay.
The second one tries to force you to give up by making the levels way harder, and unlike this game, sawblades and the new rotating axes DO NOT RESET, throwing all strategy that was present in the first game.
This one you can go fast, but on the sequel? You are meant to wait around, the gameplay feels more like a waiting simulator than an intense platformer.

After playing the sequel which I have yet to complete, I am scared of Never Give Up.
Give Up 2 gets a half star or star and a half. No more.

PS: I'm writing this here since Give Up 2 isn't on Newgrounds.
