Reviews for "A Different Color"

I loved this game, I could relate with the small grey cube during my high school year. During "taking a risk" Stage I can't help but feel you yoinked the other color's friend away from it, and now we get to start the whole game over once more.

I would like to see a second game that is close to this one. Personal favorite is the phase 3. *spoiler* after I hooked the 2 reds up I turned blue and melded in with the crowd.

A good game. Surprising amount of story.

Simple abstract models often can explain complex things very well, this one is a good example of such. Pace, music, visuals - all in a good places, which is what I used to expect from FancyFish, respect for keeping quality up! It all sets up the right mood and feels natural. Special thanks for music, you always seem to put lots of attention to it and music is important to me. The story was ok too, logical and interesting enough. My only complain is that you could have explored this whole concept more, considering other solutions like searching for alike entities or entities in the same situation (for example - isolated red), who wouldn't be accepted by others and thus could bound to you withought having camouflage (and with other issues, probably), finding other means to fight lonliness and so on. For now it's only a tip of an iceberg. But keeping things as simple as possible worked too. Another great piece of interactive art from you.

The idea is nice but the game was a bit slow. Also, on a more psychological note, people do not need to be the same to accept each other. In fact, accepting all kinds of different people as friends and loved ones makes for much more fun. Learn from each other and use everyones strengths to become a better person yourself. Don't conform to what others want from you, be yourself and let others be themselves. Just don't be an asshole and people will accept you, unless they're assholes themselves, but you don't need to care about those people.

Interesting so far, but for some reason it keeps autokilling me on the "I had to take a risk" stage when I lose my first color, even though my loneliness bar is empty?

davidmaletz responds:

When a bond breaks, it increases your loneliness, and on the last level, the bar will fill up quickly. Two bonds breaking on the last stage will cause you to lose even if the bar is empty (which is can easily happen when you lose your first color, as there are two of each color you can bond with). That "autokilling" is the risk you have to take though (hint).
