Reviews for "CHILDREN"

The art was fairly well done and the music fit very well with the mood. I thought this was more of a scary story than anything else, though, and the only thing I really thought was creative was the idea of a glowing light monster. I agree that the monster was drawn a bit clumsily and seemed a bit funny, but I found the film scary and sort of sad nonetheless.

I personally don't feel this film is anything super special but it's good nonetheless.

The sound effects were amazing, and it's clear you knew the feeling you wanted to convey with each part.

However, like most people said, the monster looked a bit silly. He was still kinda intimidating in my eye, but I really think its appearance could have been improved.

Aside from that, maybe it's just me seeing too much into this, but the woman seemed to me like a really bad mother: letting her daughter wander off, not being alarmed by the buffalo running away all of a sudden, just looking down at her son and crying (or something) as the monster is coming to get him, letting herself be fooled by a *completely white* duplicata of her son, etc.

Anyways, the style was good, although it could be improved upon, the idea was great, and the sound effects were amazing. The animation needed a little more work, and the monster could have been more threatening.

All in all, a good flash.

Didn't really do it for me. It seemed like a pretty standard formula to me, and the animation was a little jerky and unnatural at times. I especially didn't like the ending. Ending it with the mother breaking down and crying makes it kind of hard to detect a plot, aside from killing off two black and white characters in under 15 minutes. It seemed as though the writer was trying too hard to instill sadness in the audience, and felt as though that alone was material enough for a story.

Things you could improve on include but are not limited to: fluid animation, camera angles, less cookie-cutter storylines (if you're really serious about the animation, I can acknowledge the fact that some animations are made solely for practice), perhaps adding some sound effects should it be appropriate (although the music was great and very atmospheric), off the top of my head.

Don't get me wrong, it was definitely worth watching and I liked it, but my standards were rised abnormally high due to the numerous praises in the review section, leading me to be slightly disappointed.

This is my opinion. Everyone has their own; I'm simply sharing mine with the author in hopes that he may take my advice and improve. Please don't lynch me.

Ambitious... the story was simple and the art was okay, but I felt the pacing was too slow and there was a lack of payoff at the end. Music was great.

I gotta admit, this made me shed a tear and I love the animation... but that was it? No offense, but the ending was flat. It could use a more interesting storyboard. Good job, though. 3/5
