Good Show!

I like this piece a lot. What did you use to make this? I'm a Reason junky and I try to make good classical sometimes but I don't manage to come up with melodies like that. Please reply. -Paul

MaestroRage responds:

I'm sorry for the late response Paul. Here is what I use.

I use Fruity Loops, for one reason alone really. Reason doesn't use VST's, which is essentially absolutely everything you hear in this song. Fruity Loops has actually very little to do with the sounds here, Fruity Loops is just the vessel to carry out these mini Plug-in programs which contain these samples.

Thats not to say Reason can't do this either, there is some AWESOME refills which I would just kill to have on Fruity Loops, but there is good with the bad, and bad with the good right?

I hope I was helpful, if you have any other questions, feel free to ask ^^.

Thank you for the review.

Interesting

FIRST OFF, I'd like to say GREAT singing Lady_Arsenic, my compliments to you, it added ALOT to the song.

But yeah, this one was very well put together, if you know what I mean. Where all the verse changes are, and where the climax's are put.

Once again, love the strings. Also, nice placements for timpani rolls + cymbal crashes. I also like that catchy tune the strings are playing at the very end, that was nice. I mean, I really liked that tune.

Can't wait to hear more, good luck with your current work (whatever it may be).

MaestroRage responds:

you know I asked LadyArsenic to sing me a melody, and I didn't ask her to sing to tempo, and she sang the melody how she saw fit, which was luckily enough much better then what I had imagined in the first place. So I TORE up the beginning and built the song around her voice, so my friend the voice does not ADD to the song, in this case, it MADE the song. The last half with the synthesized choir and the such was the part after the original beginning, it suited this case rather well so I kept it.

I probably should upload the full version of this sometime.

Thanks again for the review and ongoing support Magi, i'm glad you enjoyed the track.

Nice work.

Heya, awesome job. Only reason i didnt give you a ten is becauase the beginning sounds similar to something i've heard before. But that may be just me being an idiot. i do that sometimes ^.^ Other then that its clear well put together and sounds professional grade. so thumbs up. d(^.^d)

p.s. Lady Arsenic, you have a beautiful voice, and i wish both of you the best of luck. :)

MaestroRage responds:

It's entirely possible. In the music world nearly everything has been done with everything else XD. And this type of music has been dwelled on enough times!

She does have a lovely voice though doesn't she?

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it ^^.

Amazing

Absolutely amazing, but not perfect. It might just be me, but I have a very small complaint, im just trying to help you out.

Intro: Beautiful but for one thing, the vocals seemed somewhat un-needed and out of place at some places, and the vocalized notes seemed to varient for me. I dont know. But this is in the very beginning. Overall 90% (dont get mad, I'm just being honest)

Melody: Perfectly beautiful. The vocals were great, clear, and just added perfectly to this section. There was very little synth sound side-effects and it was all very clear and realistic. Overall this section would get a 100%

Ending: Very good fadeout and decrescendo, a very pleasent ending that seemed to blend perfectly with the rest of the song. The song felt a little incomplete though (obviously because its cut down). Overall this section would get 98%

Clarity: Perfect 100%

Diversity: Not much to really broaden with, Excellent 100%

Effort: Would you expect anything less? I dont think so! 100%

Originality: Great blend of vocals unlike anything i've ever heard, overall, great. 100%

Overall: 99%

MaestroRage responds:

Please, I respect your honesty, along with anybody elses ^^. Don't be afraid to speak your mind, i'm open to all angles.

It did feel a bit incomplete didn't it? I suppose I should have found another segment to flesh out and submit as a demo.

Oh well, I suppose when it's done i'll upload the full thing!

Thanks for the review ^^, means a good deal to me.

Another Great

Another Great peice of work, Maestro. But! I must say that, out of all of these songs, this one is my least favorite. Not just because that you cut it, its just that at 00:25 - 00:36 the vocals notes were kind of off and it just made that time frame a little tense to listen to. Good work though *shiver* this is the first 4/5 I'm giving you. :(

MaestroRage responds:

thank you Stealth. I am glad you enjoyed it. To be honest, I read the review directly above your's first, and it put me in a kind of... neutral mood. However, I am glad you found it entertaining. As you mentioned, that section clashes, but not because of the singer, that is entirely my fault.

I'm glad to see your honesty, I hope to keep getting your 5's in the future ^^.
