Reviews for "Toons These Days: Ep 17"

How the hell did a sponge become so popular ?! xD

Meh, the rant wasn't that good, much like the series. Enough about TTD series though. My problem is how anyone over the age of 13 is defending spongebob...if you were around in 1999 you probably noticed that spongebob has changed so drastically that the appeal of the show is long gone. I used to be a huge fan of that cartoon. Now it seems like, much like other nick cartoons (IE fairly odd parents), that the characters get dumber as the show progresses in seasons, and the jokes lost any kind of wit ages ago. Patrick was the best character in my opinion, sadly he has basically been lobotomized with a spork.

"You may be an open book Spongebob, but I am a bit more complicated than that. The Inner Machinations of my mind are an enigma." ~Patrick Star 2001 - 2005

Spongebob, back when it started, was not half bad. It was full of jokes both clean (for the children, of course) and dirty (for the parents so they wouldn't lose their minds watching a damn sponge). Originally, Spongebob also had references to many real-world topics during that time, showing how stuff was. The newest show that still has a real world basis is flapjack, which is really cartoons about the old times (1800s and before). Scooby-Doo: The Hippie movement (why do you think that only Shaggy hears scooby talk, sees the ghosts with the dog (despite having unmasked hundreds), and is always hungry in spite of the masses of food he eats). The newest cartoon that I have seen that hasn't made me want to gouge out my eyeballs and rip off my ears would have to be Chowder, then everything tried to rip off chowder, making it stupider and stupider. Gumball was pretty freaking crappy, the problem solvers was an atrocity, and I gave up on new cartoons after that. The thing is, no one's going to feel nostalgic for these new cartoons, and if someone does, I sincerely hope that they are getting help for their serious mental condition.

okay from what i hear everything doggy says is negative but still pretty funny

Because compared to the rest on TV, Sponguebob is actually decent.

Yes the situation is that bad.

Also i wish Newgrounds stopped reloading videos when you log in -.-
