Reviews for "Mad Princess"

It was quite entertaining but very short. I did not like how not all the traps are available on different levels, although it did add a certain level of difficulty. I would suggest maybe a free for all mode where the enemies get harder and offer less blood over time so I can implement my own strategy and not the one the creator intended to beat a level.

Why I HATE this game:
1) Why if i drop a wall on a princess she lives and the wall autodestroys itself?
2) Level 16 is impossible I tried it 50 times fix it.
3) Bombs have a MICRO radius, it's impossible hit something.
4) Bombs DOESN'T one-shot? How that is possible?
5) Why if I drop a ballista on a wall the ballista autodestroys?
6) ò_ò.
7) As least the story and the musics are good.

Really good game, with an epic theme music!
It's short. I hope there is a sequel coming.
Games like this don't fail to entertain me deeply and I really liked this twisted princess story.

To draw an unnecessary comparison, it feels like an extremely watered down version of Orcs must die, which is by no means a bad thing. The premise is amusing, and I absolutely adore the sound and art design. I'm not against uncomplicated games, but when each item serves such a single-minded purpose and each level is such a small area, the game feels so simple that it becomes a little boring to play.
That said, each item *does* serve its purpose well, making the game feel very tightly designed. Each level, small and standard as it was, was clearly built with a specific purpose in mind, and made good use of the limited elements in the game. All in all, a pretty good game.

Great game, but Averrath is right.

While you have an original idea that was executed well; it could have been better elaborated upon. Of course, you had a deadline to meet, so I won't be so harsh.

Graphics: You did an excellent job on replicating the Super NES look. I think RedHarvest was right to say that the main character looked like a deranged Princess Peach. However, the spiked ball trap wasn't drawn as well as the rest of the sprites. Did I mention that the blood was a nice touch?
Audio: There wasn't much in terms of audio, but it fit the setting quite well. On the other hand, the music tends to get repetitive.
Gameplay: I usually dislike these defense games considering how over saturated the genre is, but the fresh concept separated it from similar games. While the game had enough to keep it from getting stale; the puzzle aspect was a double-edged sword. It doesn't allow for any alternate solutions, which is a bummer. On the other hand, it does provide a legit challenge without being too frustrating and obnoxious. Plus, Rhoneoceros is right to bring up the click detection issue, which is also annoying.

The Good:
-Addicting
-Nice graphics
-Fitting sound
-Interesting idea...

The Bad:
-...but similar to FFMC: My Life as Darklord.
-The puzzle elements are uneven.
-Could use some more variety/elaboration, but that's what sequels are for.

Overall: Here's a nine from me. (4.5/5)
