Reviews for "60s Santa Run"

That a shit, its hard!

Whahahah! THis is so funny! :-D
I love it.
Its kinda fun game and actually it is also interesting when you have created all different objects to pass trough. I give it 5/5. :-)

fantastic... still trying to find all the secret medals

Fucking stupid that taking a second to think makes you start all the way from the beginning. Could have been half decent otherwise

I was stuck between 21 and 22 seconds for a long time, until I found a youtube video showing how to do a 25+ second run. Having completed that, I'm more impressed with the designer for even understanding how to achieve such a high upper limit on the time-remaining for a game that seems impossible on the first couple of tries.

There's immense satisfaction in simply completing the game, no matter how many seconds are left, the first time around. The difficulty of getting your time down scales nicely with one's ability. Once you know how to get to the last level with 10 seconds to spare you can start spending time on individual levels for optimization. Newbies shouldn't get so frustrated, and should focus on finding the first short-cut which is worth the most time. I don't think people should go to walkthroughs until they figure out how to break 20s remaining on their own. Figuring that out is a lot of fun and makes the game more like a puzzle platformer than an action platformer.

I went back and played 60s Burger Run, and I think Santa's is superior. Your level design is really excellent though, and if you had a couple dozen of these combined with more features (gameplay abilities, achievements, longer levels, larger worlds/higher time limits) it could be its own indie release on Steam or something.

My one complaint is making a keyboard shortcut for the main menu. It's nice to hit Q to quit, and it would be even nicer to hit a single key to start again instead of reaching for the mouse. Or if R restarts the level, have a single key that restarts the entire sequence.

Great game though. The initial difficulty really distracts from how brilliant the level design and control is. Keep making games.
