Reviews for "A Keaton's Tale"

The animation and other art left much to be desired, but you're obviously improving. The length surprised me a little as did the story and concept. While the voice acting was very lacking for Kafei, the rest was better. The voicing was especially great from the Keaton.

My favourite part of this was definitely the idea of taking Zelda characters that were only minor and making them the leads. The sound editting was pretty awesome too. I suck at that myself.

There were some issues I found with the animation but I still found this to be an intersting piece of animation along with some of the voice acting, I enjoyed it but I think a little bit more development could be done but I enjoyed this piece and hope to see more in the future.

good animation, but the writing needs some work.

If you are trying to convey a message using two nonlinear short stories with a common theme don't have an ending monologue to tell us the message in the movie. It just feels as if you are forcing a message down our throat, and by directly answering all the questions yourself directly you just ruin any depth in the story.

We aren't children, you don't need to tell us how to interpret your story.

The animation and artwork was great, but writing needs serious work.

Eastbeast responds:

I agree with you to some extent. Originally I didn't have the speech at the end, but a lot of people I tested it on felt left in the dark, so I used the ending speech to provide a more general audience with a tool to make their own interpretations, rather than leaving them confused. Thanks for the review : >

Nice pun at the end (We keatons have many tales...) heres the pun version (We keatons have many tails)

the animation was aright better then what i can do, art was great i only wish we can see how the scrub meant his fate

Eastbeast responds:

I believe it is implied in MM that he is transformed by the Deku scrub. Hmm if I would have thought about it I could have had a cool little scene of the skullkid. But story wise I don't think it really needed it, so not announcing the deku's causes for death were deliberate.
