This type of game is not a new concept, since Minecraft came out. There has been so many remakes of it that it's tired now. While I appreciate the idea behind this game, it's already been done. This game is basically Terraria with a few minor differences. And as a player of Minecraft (What drew me to try this game) I notice that the soundtrack is most definitely from Minecraft, I'm not sure if your friend got permission to use it or what, but that's what it is. The textures look very similar to Minecraft too, so I feel this is just a 2D (slightly buggy) version of that.
However saying all this, I think this game could have potential. If you move away from what has already been done. If I was working on this game, I personally would strip it down to just it's functions and then think of another way to make this interesting.
