Reviews for "Randobot"
Very good. I like the idea, even if it frustrated me a few times early on.
I enjoyed learning what risks to take and which not to based on trial and error. And though the lack of checkpoints initially frustrated me, I found it to be quite useful in learning the best ways to complete your task due to the punishing nature of it.
You can't just run through this game like in most shooter/platformers. You have to think and calculate risk vs. reward.
Tips to to all others:
1. I highly advise maxing movement and jumping before anything else. This makes life much less difficult in the long run.
2. If possible, jump to avoid enemy attacks. It has a much higher chance of working than crouching and saves headache and rage in the long run.
I was slightly disappointed at how short the game was, and it's very lineral nature.
Perhaps, if a sequel or extension were made, give a greater story and more levels with different dangers.
Or possibly add more to the malfunction system. Such as instead of only making it not work when it malfunctions, have the robot do something else entirely than what was ordered, and don't always make it a bad malfunction. Say instead of shooting a normal shot, it malfunctions and fires of an overpowered shot that leaves the unit drained of its ability to shoot for a bit, or instead of a normal jump it malfunctions and does a high jump.
Those sorts of things.
Anyway, all in all good. Hoping to see more work from you all!
Quite a different perspective of gaming. Although at the beginning it was frustrating that shoot and jump wouldn't work and I would die. I like the idea that you have to earn those types of moves, unlike in other games in which you are given those straight off the bat. Only complaint is you can't go back into levels and not that much variation. Still good game!
When the bot glitches it would make me die a lot by enemies. but later in the game it got better.
I enjoied this game, I really liked the succession rate of the robot's operations, it's reveloutionary
