I really like your movie

I thought the animation was great, the characters looked good! You really built up the energy for the shooting at the end. Keep up the good work! -David

awsome

the music fit and it was in synk perfectly. i loved it. reminded me or excaliber a bit.

very nice

yes, i thought the beginning was really slow. I understand that section was supposed to create dramatic tension, but when everything is consistently moving at slow motion, you kinda lose the feeling of suspense as opposed to "hmm, he's picking up his cigarette... he's still picking up a cigarette..." you could have shown the stuff happening to the guy on the ground moving in slow motion as if to show things in his mind blurring to a crawl, but keeping the standing guy's actions at normal speed to convey his feeling of security and victory.

That being said, any doubt i had on the movie (the relatively simple plot was part of it), it was all blown away by the climax, which was so absolutely perfectly timed to the music I was really impressed. All the rotating shots especially were very well done, which surprised me a lot. Obviously you know how to create fast scenes, so I guess I hoped the beginning was just as visually extravagant even if it needed to be slow-paced.

I'm really a lot more impressed than I let on, I just wanted to offer constructive criticism. By the way, I noticed the Cube-style clothing of the guys ;).

HeRetiK responds:

Thanks, I'm always glad to get constructive criticism! I know, the beginning is very slow, but thats just because I wanted it to match with the music, and I think I succeeded! The rotations took me very long, thanks! The plot... well... *caugh* take it as a metaphor...

Really nice!!

I love Carl Orf's piece, but I hate how it is used to dramatize every damn thing in the world. It was only every used in EXCALIBUR, properly -- all other movies abused it, and trivialized it.

I might have said the same about your animation, but I know you are an enthusiastic amateur just like me, so to be honest, I thought it was really good, as far as style goes. A dramatic, slow-action shoot-out with that piece of music is really excellent.

Only thing you REALLY gotta sort out, is -- you got whole cartridges flying there, buddy. There is NO excuse for that at all, even if you are an amateur. If you are going to portray gunfire, you should know how that stuff works. You got the slides on the guns working properly (and it looks good, btw), so to get that wrong is bad.

That aside, really nice, dude. Cigarette smoking, ashes, slow-motion stuff, classic work, it really is. It makes me think of REAL movies, you know?

Maybe if us Flash animators got our shiet together, we'd be the next Tarrentino? :)

Good stuff dude, really!

HeRetiK responds:

Thanks! Ok, I forgot to draw the bullets withouth their casings, and I'm really sorry. I never thought that people would care about that...
