Reviews for "Siegius Arena"

controls are very sluggish and unresponsive

It's very fun... for a while. I do really enjoy the game and the increasing variety of enemy (hence the 4 stars), but sometimes it just feels like there's no way to escape damage. Using the dual weapons or the two handed weapons are 100% out because you can't afford the horrific armor loss. Lots of the armor upgrades are actually just moving magic stats around and don't really help that much. So far, I've only gotten 8% armor from all the upgraded armor I bought (I believe I'm on tier 6), and I'm supposed to suffer a 20-30% armor loss from using the other weapons? There's lots of items to choose from, but it really doesn't matter because without having health potions in the harder levels (I'm halfway through the second zone) you're sunk. Sometimes you get mobbed, especially by the heavies with shields and there's just no way to get away. You'll be trying to run past guys and each one will get a swipe at you. There really needs to be a run/charge feature to help get you out of trouble or smash through it, kind of like those heavies can do to you that you can do with a 5-10 second cooldown. I found the item and spell button choices a bit awkward and was on occasion accidentally wasting healing potions when I was quickly going for the spell. Maybe make spell C and item A? That way it's still close but won't get confused.

This sounds like lots of negatives, but I really do enjoy the game. The music is engaging and fits perfectly, the graphics are 100% sufficient and the movement is very well done. This game is a solid 4/5 stars for me.

-why did you force us to move our right hand between the mouse and the keyboard?

-you have to sit still attacking far too long to turn around.

-terrible mobility. no dashing or jumping or rolling? really? that's like 99% of physical combat.

-and what's with having to run around picking up coins when you kill people? that's a lame payout method. i'd rather focus on combat in the arena and money stuff outside of the arena.

-no noticeable feedback when you take damage. you just do. (inevitably due to the terrible mobility you gave us) there is feedback but in the heat of intense combat you don't notice it at all. you just kind of have to assume "ok i'm in a brawl so i'm probably taking some damage over time. longer i'm in this brawl sooner i'll die, etc."

overall the terrible mobility and the frustrating nature of movement during swinging really killed this experience for me.

it's still good amongst the sea of crap out there though so it deserves an above average rating.

It was a good game and fun to play, but the interface could use some redoing a bit. Other than that, I do like this. Got through a few fights with some of the armour and weapons I had purchased.

Is the game online :D
