Reviews for "Rob's Cabin Quest"

great work 2 make music, coding and gfx only in 48 hours!!!! like it!!!

Good idea, but way to repetitive and tedious for my liking.

This game is a really good concept, it's got only a few small flaws that make it feel a little incomplete and choppy. The first and least important of these flaws would be that if you try to go through a door at just the wrong angle, you'll get caught slightly within the wall. It's possible to get out but it has set me back a few times in the beginning of a fight. The controls are not too bad, everything seems responsive, but the movement of the whip feels floaty. The way it extends doesn't feel quick enough, and I know that's to make it so you can't just plow through enemies like it's Call of Duty, but if you could make the whip move a little faster with the same sort of delay in, say, Castlevania 1, the combat would feel a lot more fast-paced and exciting while remaining exactly the same.
While I'm not sure if it's the point of the game, I never really got a feeling of progression while playing it. It's a cabin with a pointlessly endless amount of rooms but you're given free reign of where you move so instead of creating a path laid out for you, you're wandering aimlessly. It seems like the game is designed that way which is fine, it just leaves me confused and constantly anxious, I don't know if I'm going the right way or not. If it is part of the game mechanic then please keep it, that's a good idea, but if not you may want to consider at least changing the way you're able to open doors. Perhaps you have to open them with the weapons you get, because I wandered around for quite a while and didn't find the gun until an incredible amount of discovery was made.

All-in-all, I like this game, or at least the idea of it. It's got a few minor details to be worked out to make it flow, but for now it's still entirely playable. The objective is obvious and interesting, it feels like an adventure, and it's altogether pretty cool. Keep up the good work, and I hope to maybe see this with those tweaks I mentioned :)

This is cool! ^^
