Thanks, we like you appreciate it!

This isn't a bad time killer by any means, and it's actually a pretty "educational" game, when you think about it. A lot of people have made fangames based off of I Wanna Be The Guy/Kaizo Mario, and many of them fall prey to the same sorts of errors. A "trap" based platformer isn't necessarily harder than other platformers, something the developer here so cleverly noted with the title of the game itself. The creator here has obviously played some games of the genre: he even references Syoban Action multiple times

While they CAN be punishingly hard, often times they simply demand the player play through a level multiple times . There are several instances where no amount of "intuition" can save you from the traps here. Notably, after the game has introduced burning signposts, one of the levels STILL has a situation where there is a trap above the signpost, and the stage can only be solved by proceeding through the signpost knowing full well that it could be rigged.

If you want to make a "good" Kaizo game, you might want to take notes from the Kaizo Donkey Kong hacks. They have everything that those sorts of games SHOULD have. Traps, Traps, traps, areas that require skilled gameplay, and actual "rewards" for falling into the traps, namely hilarious meme-worthy deaths.

The low traction here is pretty killer, and I'm vaguely reminded of Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt(SNES), an early, unrefined example of a "trap platformer" in which the protagonist had tremendous running speed but terrible traction.

So yes, I would accept this game for what it is: a fairly simple entry-level kaizo platformer that gives the player a good idea of HOW one of these games could play without necessarily hyping or lampooning the genre.

I do think that there should be some achievement for completing the game with a fairly low death count. The existing achievements kind of lose their meaning when you consider that players might attempt to make multiple runs, and might prefer to reset their death count down to 0 beforehand.

Thanks for your good review, we will take your advise for our following concepts.

Starts not... -.-

Gameitnow responds:

What do you see?

So frustrating, but so good because of it. I think the music toggle button isn't working.

Gameitnow responds:

Thanks! There is a background music button and a sound effect button, please push both of them if you want to stop all sounds.
