Reviews for "Derelict"

This song is perfect. Imagine you're walking in the city, and the rest of the people are freezed. Great mix, nothing to criticize, amazing song.

Lethal-Input responds:

Awesome imagery! Thanks!

You've come a long way in just a year, dude! I think you used to be called icyflamez or something when you were asking around for help in the FL questions thread. Now here you are throwing out some pretty legit trance tracks on the portal. I'm in love with this one. The level of atmosphere in this is almost tangible.

Lethal-Input responds:

Wow i'm surprised you remembered my old name! Lol thanks for the comment!

this some old style or progressive trance? Seems that way at the start im really liking it,,,very pro sounding as well...loving the vocal type fx af 50sec how are you doing that? is it a preset or samples? what vst? what is it?..after 1:00 song really kicking it, very nice man...chill and nice sounds and melodies.....what vst u using and presets? I think the main lead melody is to quiet though hard to hear through the drums and vocal fx....drums also nicely done, nice kick man, vengeance?...Overall the song was chill and very pro but seemed to lack a killer something...just chill without anything making it stand out...good job i enjoyed and will download..its my style...i think maybe u can check some of my trance work if u wish maybe this is one of my better ones? http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/597336

Lethal-Input responds:

It's some type of trance, that's for sure lol. The vocal sample was VEH2 FX 52. Most of the synths I used in this song I made on Sylenth, but the choir, and paddy/piano were Nexus presets. Thanks for the review! I'll check out your track.

Feels like one is traveling rapidly through space. The planets, then the abyss of space, the stars, the nebula all whipping by.... but in ones on reference frame everything is slow. Looking out , seeing one's half reflection in the glass. Everything that one knew, faded away.

And then you smash into something at near the speed of light (chrrrr at the end)

Nice desaturation at some points, really kicks it home.

Lethal-Input responds:

Awesome! lol

Thanks for the comment!

Been a while since I've listened to your tracks, and let me say first that the mix is way cleaner and more professional sounding. It progresses very nicely. However...
- The sound design is good, but its basic. While you don't need to reinvent the wheel, it would still be nice to hear some sound or FX that makes me say "Whoa, how'd he do that"
- And it seems a bit longer than 3:42. If you added a thing or two that were noticeably changing how the track progresses, it would be more interesting, and would be more catchy.

Overall, nice track. You have improved a lot.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the detailed review! Yeah I do feel like this track ends up getting stagnant in some ways. It has not aged well with me well at all tbh
