It's a good game, very large and complex and I'll likely finish it. But it definitely has its gameplay flaws.
1. At the later levels the enemies just have TOO MANY HIT POINTS. It's simply boring to sit there pressing j 20 times as their HP bar creeps pixel by pixel down, even though you're doing 120 damage (and the ABSOLUTE BEST weapons at the shop that cost 3x my total gold only do 200-300 damage so don't tell me I just need to upgrade). It's also quite literally tiring on my wrist to repetitively hit that one key.
2. Bows simply SUCK. The arrows cost $$ with every hit (if you want upgraded arrows you're talking SERIOUS $$). Especially when it takes 35 hits to take down one enemy. Plus, when you're using a bow the arrows take your only "Accessory" slot, so items like Robin's Ring (+12 dexterity) that look like they should be for archers, can't be used by archers.
3. "Dodge" (which you get from Luck and Dexterity) is simply USELESS. Before I found out how much bows suck, I put some points into Dexterity because I wanted to use one. Even after I resigned myself to melee, I kept pumping Dexterity and Luck figuring the dodge would be worth something. Nope, not at all. Wearing Robin's Ring, with 33 dexterity and 20 luck, I let an orange crab hit me 20 times and my guy only dodged TWO of those hits. Pathetic. For that much of a stat point investment I'd expect at least 50% dodge rate (after all if I had put all those points into Vitality I'd get more than double the health).
4. Because of all these problems you need a "re-stat" option to choose your abilities and stats again. It would also be nice to try out weapons other than swords, but it would be pointless because my weapon ability points are all in swords and there is no re-stat option.
5. Minor annoyance, the game is too tall for my screen even fullscreened. I had to zoom out in my browser to be able to play it.
