Reviews for "Salem"

I was wondering when this would arrive on Newgrounds.

I love this game, the atmosphere is great, the voice actor is really spot on and delivers his lines perfectly.

My only complain on the matter is the weird mouse problems.

Nonetheless, a solid and most well done game. Perfect for Halloween time!

Nice game, but too resource intensive, my mouse wouldn't folow in time and not precise enough for the finishing move. The movement was reacting delayed.
Other than that it was awesome.

My stats: Firefox 15.0
Flash 11.4
2.8 Ghz quadcore
4GB RAM
Drivers are up to date since yesterday

Thanks for that! I have almost that exact setup and the game runs fine for me. But, I still have a lot to learn about coding a game, so this is a lesson learnt for me!

Wow, that was great. Excellent voice acting and characters. I'm not even much of a Castlevania type of game fan. And overall I've gotten a bit of a crush on Anselm too.

A top notch game that I really really enjoyed! I really look forward to seeing the next game in the series and personally, I'd like it if I had Zipp hanging around me since he's a fun demon! Still, everything has it's improvements so I have just two suggestions for the next one. Since you're clearly going with the concept of good and evil, why not include special abilities based on dark or light in the next one? My other suggestion would be to potentially make the game more RPG-like (you've seen castlevania games do this, that's a good example) with other equippable weapons, armour etc that you can visibly see on your character (because I plain hate the RPGs that don't do that. Urrrrgh!). This game was amazingly fun and I hope you'll consider the suggestions here for the next one. ONWARD!

I played the demo first a few weeks ago and was waiting for the final release. It is really fun to play. Boss fights are intuitive and the using the lamp to finish off bosses is a really nice idea. Zipp not answering questions feels like a plot device to spawn a sequel though. After killing Zipp, I stopped caring about the story.
