Reviews for "Spartans vs Goblins"

Good graphics, music etc. Based on that old roman game, kinda easy tho, still fun for a bit

if you google for pawn duel you'll find the rules on how to beat any IQ level (there are 8 or 9... I forgot) given the fact that you have the first turn.
The game is nicely coded, except the highscore seems buggy. I won the game without loosing any battle with 3900 points, however there is people having 4600 points or even one with 90'000'000ish points... :P

This was a very strange game. It was hard for me to even make an opinion about it. I guess for the most part, it wasn't something I enjoyed, probably because I didn't understand it. I tried looking through the instructions again, but they disappeared when I tried to play the game again. Anyway, I know next to nothing about chess, which is probably why I did so poorly on this.

Then again, I couldn't even really tell if I was even failing. I wasn't expecting spartans to be paired with goblins. No, I don't mean THAT kind of pairing. The graphics are at least decent. People who are a lot better at chess should like this a heck of a lot more.

I have a degree in game theory, and after a solid hour I can't figure out how it's possible to win this game if you're going first as long as the opponent reacts properly. Your AI programming makes it possible, but once you get to level 3 IQ its extremely hard to win going first. It reminds me of tic tac toe, the limited playing field and mechanics means a finite number of game outcomes, with there only being 2 effective "branches" after each move.

i dont like it so much because iq 1 and iq 2 are easy but iq 3 is too impossible
