Reviews for "Escape from the VBP"

Dude, I want to love it but....the controls are so slippery. Also as someone without a mouse and having to use a track pad, this type game would be really nice if you allowed movement with either the arrow keys or WASD. I think it's a great concept and a very pretty pixel game, but because of the movement of the ship (even with several upgrades) I became frustrated enough to not even finish it.

meinlogin responds:

Yeah, I guess lots of action games with mouse controls are not easy to play with the trackpad. Will see if I can add the keyboard controls, because they will affect the balance (i.e. the game will feel differently).

Love the design and the music! Decent playability.

meinlogin responds:

Thanks! I'm actually not an artist, but programmer, so hearing that someone likes my art is very pleasant:).

By far easiest game i have ever played beat it on my first try and couldnt really get the consept or the story of it is kinda just putting you out there but it was ok so 3 stars

Thanks for the fair feedback, more difficulty levels is the thing I would add in a sequel to this game if it appears somewhere in the future.

wait, i begin the game with 500 coins but 1 rocket does cost 100 coins? would be better if each rocket would cost 10 or 1 coin...also, please ad a range upgrade for the coin magnet.

how can i activate the bonuses? what do they do?

meinlogin responds:

Bonuses give you the ammo, if you have purchased the upgrades. About the price of rockets: this game is less shooter and more avoider:). I didn't want the guns to have lots of bullets.

Another McFlash game with pixel-sprites, money collectables and shopping for power-ups after you die. Hardly re-inventing the wheel here are we lol, but hey, for what it's worth your game isn't bad at all. After all, if it works, don't break it..
The particle effects you have used are polished and attractive to the eye. I thought the power-ups were well-balanced. Also the time it takes to clock the game is about right. Some love&care has gone into this title.
Good little time-waster this one. It's addictive.
I hope your next game is a little more original though- this one is a little too cookie-cutter for my tastes.

As some people have said, you're hit-box collision detection is a little off. Def need pixel-perfect for this kind of game. Might I recommend Troy Gilbert's adapted Pixel Perfect Col. Class? Works an absolute charm.

Keep it up dude.
