Yes, it woud appear that as our civilizaion goes farther into the future the next step in our evolution is to asend. From single celled organism to multicellular and beyond evolution is an ongoing process which increases in complexity as time advances. What some feel is the fate of the human race is to become one global consciousness through technological means. This is not fueled by an all seeing creator or mystical mathematical mumbo-jumbo. The hard fact is that the natural progression is be achieved in a similar fashion. We are simply learning to become more unified in our processes, seemingly approaching the efficiency of a biological system. In many ways, biological systems function in similar ways to the say that of environmental systems or even astronomical systems. It is all really a matter of perception to subjectively connect the dots and make broad assumptions. Consciousness is merely an evolutionary step which aids in the given organisms natural selection. However, where your and I's mentality shifts is the essence of consciousness. Being aware of ones body and recognizing one's self as well as thinking about ones thoughts are wholly divergent. Self-awareness emanates from the level of complexity in the given organism, this too with consciousness however for the latter there is a lesser necessity of complexity. The constructs of what we perceive to be reality are purely physical. Acts of ascending from the body or drifting to the light as some have claimed are merely hallucinogenic fabrications of the mind. Occurring before brain-death which, as you know, is irreversible. In a sense, we do live on. What can be defined as "you" are the total number of cells which constitute a larger whole. After death these cells are broken down and our matter is recycled. This could be perceived as a metaphor for reincarnation; however, the thinking "you" ends when your brain dies. These facts are largely regarded in the scientific community to be true. To attempt to persuade me that the universe is accommodating of us as humans feels childish and overly optimistic. Referring to a Douglas Adams quote, I am paraphrasing, "The puddle feels that it fits its ditch quite well. And yet as the day grew longer and the puddle grew smaller he was taken be surprise when he evaporated into thin air." We are the puddle, constantly struggling to make sense of our predicament. Well, we fit will with our environment. Yet, it is juvenile to think that as humans our essence means anything more than a puddle or a bird to the universe. It is our nature to make sense of the chaos which surrounds us. The 11:11 phenomena can be explained by our necessity as humans to detect patterns in seemingly random data. Selectively noticing what peeks our interest, and disregarding the rest. Is that not what all of this spiritual business is based on? Selective perception and confirmation bias?

Hey Satsumi!
I actually agree with a lot of what you said, our understandings are not far off. Its true that there is nothing separating us from the birds or a puddle or the universe. It's all part of one system. What we do know, is that it is the most intelligent and dominant system on this planet. Because of that reason, and the rapid technological accelleration that we are experiencing, is putting us into a state of rapid growth, which I think is fascinating and exciting all at once.
What's more, we are that human species evolving. We are a collective, so i'm focusing on that in this series because of that reason. We are so interesting, look at what we've created as a whole, so far and distant from nature. All i'm saying is that its time to look at ourselves :)
None of this is coming from selective perception. It's coming from open perception, allowing a freeflow of ideas and information to be passed around and shared. It's also based on feeling truth in ones heart. In my heart, I know there's more to myself and this planets story than meets the eye. I want to find out more.
