The meaning of a word is made by a popular understanding of its meaning. Gay has a few meanings that are understood and so by definition are correct.
1:Ajtv... happy.
2:noun...A person who enjoys sexual relations with a member of the same sex.
3:verb...doing or being something that is generally unexcepted by members of your socal group.
4adj/adverb...doing something that is out of sorts from the normal expectations of your socal group.
GAY is a word. It works many ways. Names do not. No one owns gay. At the most you have
" homosexual" that word is pretty clear but then again if you feel you do own gay just note that you made a positive word for happy change in to a negative word for the list above. So....nice job.
