Reviews for "Fog Fall 4"

I give it a 3.5 since it was a very fascinating game, but it was tough to get through even with the walkthrough.

First I would like to say. I've loved this series and have played the previous three. Before I even began the game. I was just let down with no recap having a sequel so late where and when does 4 take place? I understand you can go back and play the others but some of us are far to lazy for that. Other than that the art work was what it should be dull colors and blurred giving a feeling of lose. I am having a hard time with the guiding system it was bugging me a first not knowing which direction I can and cannot go. It seems I can no longer continue I put all the pieces on the chess board and have one still left I cannot put it in my inventory and now I'm stuck and have to refresh. So I can't give a full review. At this point I can only give it about three and a half stars.

Make's me very mad....But it's fun.

The game moves very slowly compare to the speed of the others.

I am a fan of this series. The story is captivating, and the artwork is outstanding. However, I was severely disappointed with this installment. The puzzles were illogical, many of which had absolutely no clues on how to solve them, not to mention the excessive back and forth with no map. It was easy to get turned around and spend a lot of time looking for a specific area.

Many of the puzzles gave no clues as to how they should be solved. For example, the gate with the red medical cross on it. You find the code for the keypad hidden in the game, and somehow are supposed to automatically know that A=1, B=2, etc.?! I spent an hour looking for some kind of cypher to decode those letters, only to give up and consult the walkthrough. A hidden paper, a scrawled message, SOMETHING, should have been given as a clue.

The gang fortress was especially illogical and poorly thought out. The guy at the gate wants payment for entry, but gives no indication of what. I ended up trying every damn item before finally lucking out with the cigarettes. Not cool considering how many items there are to be found in this game. Same for the Gang boss. All he says is, "Don't waste my time" and we are supposed to take that to mean, "Give me an item"????

Also, there are 2 extra chess pieces. I found 8, but only needed 6. Not sure if this was part of the plan, or simply oversight, but considering how every other item in the game had a specific purpose, I wasted a lot of time trying figure out what those other two pieces were for, only to end up once again, consulting the walkthrough and finding out they were useless.

I loved this series, but this had to be the worst of the bunch. The ques and clues were extremely lacking, causing the player to consult the walkthrough on more than one occasion. It's one thing to struggle with difficult clues, quite another to try and figure things because there are none. It basically ruined the whole experience.

There were some puzzles and clues that were logical, like the tired doctor, or catching the cat. It was unfortunate that those were few and far between.
