I really enjoy the animation, the delivery and the story telling. I have watched it over and over again. This is a great animation. I like the extremely crisp style and the details that you put in the ornamental touches. I would like to suggest a few things; however:
I think that the black and white color scheme has too much contrast. The piece feels like it is sunk into the page and almost two dimensional. I suggest adding shading through grey-scale. This would allow for more color variation in your arsenal and allow shading which would help the shapes to pop out more in the third dimension.
Secondly, I know that you do use some background music for the appropriate times in the story; however, the lack of music in all other places allows for low levels of static to come through the short. I suggest that you have constant ambient music and incorporate peaks and valleys to match the mood. This way it doesn't distract away from the story.
I may not be able to articulate these concepts very well as I have never really animated anything. I do not know the verbage or correct terminology. I think adding those two suggestions would really take the short to the next level. Then again, you may be designing these effects on purpose. Anyhow, GREAT use of non-black/white color. The voice acting is superb and for some reason, the artistic style really emotes and engages the viewer/reader/watcher. Watching it again for the fifth time. . . . Thanks for uploading.
