Reviews for "Pregnetheus"

so bad yet so good

Was good. Really through me for a loop. Brought back those memories of that game!

This is a great cartoon because you have no idea whatsoever what's going to happen in this. You can tell it was going towards humor when it was presented like a claw machine. It kind of makes you wonder why the tentacle fetus didn't come out before that. I thought the joke was going to be over with just the claw machine. You did an even better job at making this even funnier with the Angry Bird prize. I did NOT see that coming.

What's also great is the animation. It's funny how your cartoon before this was called "Short & Sweet". That's exactly what this submission turned out to be. I like how you have no dialogue and let all the visuals tell the story. It's funny to see her get bored while covered in blood.

I'm going to be honest with you two; it wasn't funny.

Look, I have no right to give either one of you two a zero, but the lack of dissent towards this is just slightly jarring. In other words, here's what I have to say...

Graphics: This was the only good part that this had. I mean, it was excellent all around, but the filters that were used in this were gratuitous and unnecessary. They felt like a total afterthought that got tacked on at the last minute.
Sound: Aside from the sound effects, the music that was made for this didn't really contribute to the comedic situation. It's like shoehorning mainstream music into a bullet hell shooter. Try listening to the Ren & Stimpy soundtrack or the music that was made for Bob Clampett's cartoons.
Content: While I'm all for searching for new parody material, along with shock/gross-out humor; the jokes in this were flat and very predictable. It doesn't help that Maddox did a riff on Prometheus a month ago that was actually funny. However, I will give you some advice: study old cartoons such as the aforementioned Clampett stuff, Fleischer's Popeye, Tex Avery, and all of the stuff by Dean Packis. (Rats on Cocaine, Premie Petey, & Father Tucker) There's plenty of stuff to learn from them.

-Great animation
-Previously unused subject
-Decent pace

[-]
-Unfitting music
-The joke--while underused--was predictable and unfunny.

Overall: I hate having to write bad reviews to anyone on here, and would prefer to keep negative opinions to either myself or profile. Here's a five for the effort that went into this. (2.5/5)

NIce idea and very well executed
