Reviews for "Korrode"

If you'll excuse the pun, it's a pretty solid game.

The graphics are kind of old-school and actually remind me quite a bit of the original Fallour, and the soundtrack backs up that kind of passing of the old world into nothingness feeling you get from things in the post-apocalyptic genre. The idea of using rust and bolts with the familiar 'Select 1, 2, 3 in order' mechanic was clever and led to a nice experience.

The emphasis of the game seems to be on time trials and on playing against other people through the use of ghost replays, which was pretty okay. I enjoyed it far more for the single player enjoyment, mostly because it's not a True multiplayer experience.

Some of the levels were a little counter-intuitive (though it could just be me being incompetent), and the soundtrack, though it fit the feeling I think you were going for, did get very repetitive after awhile.

Overall, 3/3.5 for making good use of a familiar mechanic, slightly annoying music through the application of time, and the lack of a true multiplayer mode.

Thanks for playing and leaving your in-depth thoughts. I enjoy reading player feedback a lot. I see you typed "Fallour" but I'm guessing you meant "Fallout". I was definitely thinking of that era of Super-VGA games with over saturated texture graphics when I made this game.

Reminds me of a darker version of a game called Bubbles. I rather liked. Still, the mouse controls seemed to have a little drift and momentum, while the AWSD controls where really tight. Not sure if that was intentional to keep from abusing the mouse, but there it is.
That, and there where a few times that i "won" but the game continued running, and some moving hunk of metal would get me.

HybridMind responds:

Yeah, I needed to make sure the mouse controls remained fair time-wise with the keyboard controls since the timed trials were shared. Look, it's so rare for a developer of a flash game to try hard to support both styles (since so many people don't have a dedicated mouse anymore) I made a good effort to have both keyboard and mouse for this skill game. Nothing is perfect, but I did have about 200 people beta test it until the majority had a good time with the controls. Can't please everyone. :D

A little frustrating when you're drunk.....but fun nonetheless.

I found the mouse controls almost useless...anyone else?

Points for being something new.

I'm very rusty at these kinds of games. I see what you did here though. It's not that bad.

HybridMind responds:

Thanks for playing and dropping some puns.

Theres really no point to the instant replay other than getting in the way and making you have to click through to the next stage.

HybridMind responds:

Well, a good number of players enjoy seeing how they did.
